The Challenge

We invite you to join the NetZeroCities Twinning Learning programme. This is a unique peer-learning opportunity between Mission Cities and other ambitious cities across the EU and Horizon Europe associated countries that aim to advance towards climate neutrality.

Based on the experience from previous twin cohorts, the new Twinning Learning Programme has been designed as a shorter 12-month programme focused on flexible knowledge exchange, workshops and site visits.

Who can apply?

All Mission Cities can now apply until 28 March 2025 17:00 CET and access the relevant information in the Expression of Interest guidelines.

Background

The Twinning Learning Programme creates a two-way knowledge exchange: as Mission Cities strive to improve their capacities by increasing their understanding of how their climate action(s) and innovative methods on systemic transformation may be applied in Twin Cities, Twin Cities develop replication activities aligned with the Cities Mission approach. Participating Mission Cities will have the opportunity to showcase their progress in implementing their Climate City Contracts and other climate strategies. By engaging with Twin Cities facing similar climate challenges, Mission Cities will gain fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and tailored solutions to accelerate their climate neutrality plans.

Informed by previous Twinning activities developed as part of Cities Mission, this 12-month programme provides targeted feedback, structured partnerships, and access to practical tools. Through tailored and flexible knowledge exchange, workshops and site visits, Mission Cities can refine their strategies, accelerate progress toward key climate milestones, and strengthen their leadership role in driving urban climate action. Ultimately, this Twinning Learning Programme contributes to the broader impact of the Cities Mission by building a dynamic network of cities actively working toward a sustainable, climate-neutral future.
