Research project - Social acceptance conditions in automated rail traffic at GoA3+
Background
The aim of the project is to obtain a comprehensive overview of the perspective of the most important interest groups, in particular the users, on driverless rail vehicles. As a result, automation efforts can be supported in a targeted manner and thus the migration of suitable automation levels in rail transport can be promoted. In doing so, not only the status quo regarding acceptance and other concepts relevant to the interest groups should be recorded and analyzed on the basis of models. Based on multi-method approaches, it is necessary to record the group-specific expectations, needs, fears, experiences, knowledge, behavioral patterns, etc. and to derive acceptance conditions for GoA3+ from them. As part of the multi-method approach, measures are to be developed to increase the acceptance of GoA3+. As a result, recommendations for action for communication strategies, for investments in research and development, as well as for additions to technical standards are developed and evaluated as a basis for the introduction of suitable and accepted automation.
