Singapore: The future of air traffic management.
Background
Background
Singapore is being developed as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Air Traffic Management (ATM), with a vibrant ATM R&D landscape comprising key ATM stakeholders to grow the local ATM R&D expertise.
Leveraging this immense market opportunity and future business potential, AIR Lab is calling startups worldwide to join the AIR Lab ATM Startup Network and help advance the future of ATM. This is a unique opportunity to define the skies of tomorrow using exciting open and advanced technologies, as well as to be immersed in a vibrant ecosystem where the ideas and innovations of think tanks, academia and aviation stakeholders converge.
Startups will get the chance to work with a world-class innovation lab, backed by two leading Air Traffic Management entities: Thales and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
Objectives
- Weather Prediction: Enhancing the weather forecast for ATM operations. Solutions that can increase the accuracy of thunderstorm prediction within the Singapore Flight Information Region (FIR).
- Sustainability: Reduce carbon and fuel consumption through more efficient ATM operations. Solutions that can help optimise the flight path or create an environment to track and incentivize ATM data sharing to enable a green economy (e.g. using blockchain).
- AI/ML: Leverage AI / ML to provide predictive advisories. Solutions that can leverage historical data to build advisory tools for Air Traffic Controllers to increase their situation awareness and/ or reduce their workload.
- Digital Twin: Creating the next generation of ATM Twin. Solutions that can help build capabilities in the next generation of ATM Twin such as data analytics tools and pseudo pilots.
- Cybersecurity: Creating an open, safe and secure ATM system. Solutions that can help support the open interactions with external partners to create solutions on the open platform via APIs.
