The Challenge

A fleet operator and commercial site needed to expand electric vehicle charging capacity while avoiding expensive grid upgrades. At the same time, the organisation wanted to maximise the use of locally generated solar energy and maintain reliable charging services during periods of high electricity demand.

The Solution

AgeVolt implemented an intelligent EV charging management platform integrated with battery energy storage and on-site photovoltaic generation. The platform dynamically balanced charging loads, optimized battery charging and discharging, and prioritized the use of renewable energy based on real-time energy availability and charging demand.

The system also enabled remote monitoring, user management, and energy optimization across multiple charging points.

Making an impact

The project demonstrated that intelligent energy management is essential for the successful deployment of EV charging infrastructure. Combining smart charging with battery energy storage and renewable energy generation not only improves operational efficiency but also helps overcome grid capacity constraints. Furthermore, adopting a scalable, software-driven approach enables organisations to accommodate future growth in EV demand without requiring significant additional infrastructure investment.
