Spain-Mataro: Railway Station Experience, Intermodality & Inclusive Accessibility
Background
The Challenge
The objective is to increase universal accessibility for all individuals, irrespective of their functional diversity, circumstances, or conditions. Our aim is to minimize the distinction between citizens and eliminate the need for segregated 'adapted routes.' Furthermore, we are dedicated to promoting the utilization of trains and public transportation in general, particularly those with lower environmental impact, by encouraging the combined use of various transportation modes.
Enhancing Universal Accessibility:
Our goal is to explore solutions that broaden the accessibility approach, taking into account diverse perspectives and the varying needs of citizens. These solutions encompass not only improvements in physical train accessibility for everyone but also enhancements in signaling, support systems, communication channels, and the type of information provided.
Fostering Train Usage as an Intermodal Transport Mode in the Maresme Region:
We are actively seeking solutions that simplify the traveler's access to a comprehensive range of intermodal transportation options, with particular attention to the unique topographical and geographical characteristics of the Maresme region.
Adapting Intermodality to Evolving Mobility Patterns and Preferences:
We are in pursuit of intermodal solutions capable of adapting to the changing mobility habits of the population, whether in terms of physical or virtual mobility.
