The Challenge

Reliable data on walking and cycling is essential for planning safer, more sustainable and better-connected transport networks. However, many authorities still lack continuous and accurate monitoring systems to understand how active mobility infrastructure is being used and to measure the impact of investments in cycling and pedestrian facilities.

The Département de l'Eure is seeking innovative solutions to monitor pedestrian and bicycle movements through the supply, installation and maintenance of active mobility counting equipment. The collected data will support evidence-based transport planning, infrastructure management and policies that encourage greater uptake of active travel across the region.

Background

The Département de l'Eure, France, has launched a framework agreement for the supply, installation and maintenance of active mobility counting equipment.

This procurement concerns Lot 1, dedicated to monitoring pedestrians and cyclists through automated counting technologies. The objective is to provide reliable mobility data that supports infrastructure planning, policy evaluation and investment decisions aimed at promoting active and sustainable mobility.

A second lot covering road traffic counting equipment will be procured separately at a later stage.
