The Challenge

Part of Milazzo's challenging topography hinders accessibility for disabled residents and tourists, including access to the castle and other attractions.

The Municipality of Milazzo is seeking a technological solution to address accessibility issues and enable both locals and tourists to fully enjoy the town's offerings. The technology should be easily accessible and low-cost in order to allow wide use and impact. An ideal solution could leverage Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, or Mixed Reality to provide a citiverse solution which would create immersive, inclusive and engaging experiences. The expected outcome is for the Municipality to be able to provide to anyone with any disabilities the possibility of enjoying Milazzo and its tourist attractions.

The Municipality of Milazzo is hosting one pilot in collaboration with their Sportello Europa.
