Almost 50% of all traffic accidents are related to cyclists. Carrying a child on the back seat of a bicycle can be especially dangerous, as the child is sitting in such an exposed position. Today, many parents avoid cycling with their children because they are afraid of having an accident. Independent studies and papers have shown how poorly standard bicycle seats protect in the event of a crash.

Cocoon's own crash tests shows how severe an accident can be, even when wearing a helmet. This together with the increased use of electric bicycles means that the industry is in great need of innovations that solve this problem.

Cocoon is creating the world's safest child seat for bikes. Cocoon is a patented airbag protection system for bicycle child seats that has the potential to save lives. The product is attached to a built-in attachment system on the back of the child seat and will open up as a cocoon around the child seat if the movement patterns match the profile of an accident.
