Rhein-Neckar Region: Development of open mobility data - parking space data.
Background
Background
The VRN is already developing and operating an electronic, multimodal mobility platform (EMP). In this, data from both the municipalities and different mobility providers are brought together and made available in information systems.
Data on sharing mobility, parking spaces, multi-storey car parks, P+R spaces, etc. are currently being maintained and displayed in the EMP's interactive map (VRN | timetable & booking - map). The interactive map currently shows 899 parking spaces. Of these, 9 parking spaces in Baden-Württemberg are equipped with P+R sensors. However, the existing parking space data is incomplete and has not yet been made available to MobiData BW.
Objectives
The overall project aims to develop further data and interfaces, to make the existing MobiData BW data available, to complete existing data, to record missing data in the four Baden-Württemberg districts of the network area, to provide maintenance and analysis tools and to sensitize municipal representatives and authorities to the maintenance and use of the data.
In July 2021, the Rhein-Neckar transport association completed the Minerva BW project. Minerva BW is designed as a data platform for providing data for MobiData BW. The Minerva BW platform has meanwhile been extended and expanded and put into operation under the name "VRN Datenraum Mobilität". The VRN data room mobility is to be expanded to include data and interfaces as part of the project.
