Germany-Essen: Installation of a low-voltage system for the Ruhrallee depot energy center
Background
On behalf of the city, Ruhrbahn GmbH ensures the mobility of citizens and connects the individual districts with buses, subways and trams. The company is a member of the Rhine-Ruhr transport association. One of the tasks is the maintenance and construction of the infrastructure for buses and trams. This applies to the route networks in the city of Essen and Mülheim as well as the associated structures, depots, administration buildings and a large number of smaller properties.
Ruhrbahn GmbH intends to gradually convert its entire bus fleet to hydrogen-powered vehicles. The first hydrogen-powered vehicles are expected to arrive in early 2024. By then, a new energy center will be built at the Ruhrallee depot. The tender is looking for services for the new low-voltage installation of the energy center and the transfer station at the Ruhrallee depot in Essen.
