Background

Bremer Straßenbahn AG is a municipal transport company in the city of Bremen. Due to the continuous expansion of the routes, more and more complex training content is created for future as well as current drivers. In some cases, these are difficult or impossible to simulate in the current training process. Currently, the complete training of the tram drivers takes place theoretically in training rooms as well as practically in the tram network and on the vehicles of the BSAG.

In particular, behavior in the event of damage can only be dealt with theoretically at the moment. With the procurement of two driving simulators, which are based on the vehicle "Siemens Avenio Bremen EBO equipment", the Bremen tram company hopes for a higher quality of training and an increase in the scope of training. Furthermore, the decision to purchase is based on other aspects. The following components are part of both simulators: vision system, movement system, sound system, simulation software, environmental module, database for the outside view, track data, instructor's workplace and the co-show places.
