France: Financial support for the deployment of electric heavy-duty vehicles and charging infrastructure.
Background
This call for projects aims to support the deployment of electric heavy mobility for road transport of goods and passengers through the acceleration of the deployment of heavy vehicles, and the acceleration of the deployment of the associated charging infrastructures (private or accessible to the audience).
Financial support
The amount of financial support for the acquisition or long-term rental of a vehicle reaches 65% of the difference in acquisition cost between the electric vehicle and an equivalent diesel vehicle, within the limit of:
- €100,000 for heavy goods vehicles, increased to €150,000 for road tractors;
- €100,000 for buses and coaches.
The installation of electric charging stations will be supported up to 60% of the investment costs.
Scope
The expected projects are investment projects in ecosystems, which combine the installation of electric charging infrastructure and the deployment of heavy electric vehicles in professional fleets, for the transport of people or goods. Eligible vehicles are 100% battery-electric vehicles of categories M2, M3, N2, N3, and urban shuttles with a GVW greater than 3.5 t, within the meaning of Article R. 311-1 of the the road. Trolleybus type vehicles are not eligible.
All infrastructure costs are eligible (costs of acquisition and upgrading, installation, connection, and any load supervisor), with the exception of civil engineering costs. No power limit is imposed. Aid for the installation of charging infrastructure will only be granted if the project also includes the acquisition of electric vehicles, except in exceptional cases mentioned in the specifications.
Finally, environmental studies relating to eligible investments in electric vehicles and infrastructure as part of the project and sizing studies of electrical installations for the installation of electric charging infrastructure are also eligible.
