Background

Arteixo is a growing industrial and logistics municipality where daily mobility is heavily dependent on private vehicles and freight transport, with strong commuting flows to A Coruña. While initiatives such as the municipal bus service and shared bike system show progress towards sustainable mobility, fleet electrification remains a major challenge. The lack of a coordinated charging infrastructure limits the transition to low-emission transport for public and logistics fleets. To address this, Arteixo seeks data-driven insights to plan a smart, integrated charging network, focusing on optimal locations to support municipal buses and other public fleets.
