Background

Tenderers were invited to a dialogue meeting on 20 June, to consider the procurement of ridesharing solutions for Viken County and currently 20 municipalities in Viken. The purpose of this dialogue is to obtain better information on what solutions exist in the market, what could affect competition, what solutions could be developed, etc.

Viken County (the contracting authority) has approx. 10,000 employees, and has responsibility for further education, dental health, cultural initiatives, environmental protection, public transport and county roads, business development and county planning. Viken County has a population of around 1.2 million. The County works to create complete and desirable community development.

A ridesharing solution could help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, which will assist the municipalities in their efforts to achieve climate targets for fossil-free transport. It will encourage the use of fossil-free transport methods, reduce the need for privately owned vehicles and increase access to mobility in the municipalities.

A content will be announced in autumn 2023.
