Background

Background

The Penitentiary Institution Krimpen aan den IJssel has a professional bakery where about 700 loaves of bread (white, brown and whole wheat) are baked every day. Together with the ROC Leiden, the Krimpen aan den IJssel PI provides the practical Bakery training. From Monday to Saturday, offenders go to work early in the morning in the bakery. Currently, PI Alphen, PI Dordrecht, PI Rotterdam (locations De Schie and Hoogvliet) and Juvenile Detention Center De Hartelborgt are also provided with bread from the bakery De IJssel. There is a possibility that the number of locations may be expanded or scaled down during the term of the Agreement due to organizational developments.

The reason for starting this tender is that the current agreement with Van Leeuwen Logistics regarding the services of unconditioned transport will expire on April 30, 2023.

It is important to mention that it is already expected that the number of locations will be expanded by one (1) additional location during the term of the Agreement. At the time of publication, however, it is not yet clear when this extension will apply.

Scope

The scope of the tender consists of unconditioned Transport Services based on the route schedule that distinguishes between:

  • Dedicated transport: this concerns the structural transport of goods based on the route schedule imposed by the Client. Execution of the transport takes place on fixed days and fixed times between specified Locations determined by the Client;
  • Occasional transport: transport of goods on all Business Days based on on-demand by the Sender;
  • Urgent transport: transport of goods on all Business Days based on on-demand by the Sender, whereby the transport of those goods has an urgent character.
